Porsche 964 & 993 center console switch tab repair kit
If one of the two switch panels in the center console in your 964 or 993 keeps popping out, then most likely the tabs on the side of the panel, which hold the metal clips in place have broken off. I have created 3D printed replacement parts which get glued over the remainder of the plastic tabs. The metal clips are not included, but they are most likely still rattling inside your center console. You will get one pair of the tabs.
Important tip: There is a good chance that there are still parts of broken plastic inside the clips. They must be removed before attaching the clips to the new tabs.
I am using PR40 “Plastic Special Adhesive” to glue the repair tabs in place.
A few pieces of advise:
for the upper panel (the one with the 3 switches) the repair panel goes in with the slanted side at the bottom and the straight side at the top (see picture). The repair panel goes OVER the remainder of the original panel (from the front so to speak).
for the lower panel (the one with the rotary dial(s)) the repair panel goes in with the straight side at the bottom and the slanted side at the top (see picture). The repair panel goes INSIDE the remainder of the original panel (from the back so to speak).
do not try to adjust (bend) the metal clips after they have been attached to the 3D printed repair panels, you will break the 3D panels.
whatever adhesive you use, as soon as the adhesive has cured, it will be impossible to remove the repair panel in case you made a mistake!
Please double check everything before you glue it in!
